Lean Simulation

Lean is the effective use of all people and the identification of all waste. Unmet production goals are usually a result of process problems, not personnel problems. Lean procedures remedy process problems by offering the tools needed to proactively improve business functions.

Lean is a more successful improvement method because it works from the bottom up, empowering the workers who are most familiar with the factory and the product to help make decisions that enhance value-added activities while decreasing the waste of resources.

The simulation includes different business functions within an organization, such as listed in the graphic below. This provides a realistic view of how each facet of an organization is influenced by the implementation of Lean.

Overview

The Bright Idea Lean Simulation is a unique, hand-on course that demonstrates the power of Lean tools. You will become an employee of the Bright Idea Lighting Company for a day with the challenge of building Halogen work lights to meet customer demands. Our simulation creates an atmosphere of fun and learning. Participants will focus on applying the tools to their own organization to gain insight on value and waste. This four round exercise introduces several fundamental tools of Lean, including:

  • 5S/Visual Management
  • Cell Design
  • Process Mapping
  • Pull System/Kanban
  • Eight Types of Waste
  • And much more...

Choose Lean

When applied correctly, Lean redefines and improves production functions. Companies that use Lean experience:

  • Improved quality
  • Reduced inventory levels
  • Shortened demand response time
  • Decreased production costs
  • Drastic space reduction
  • Improvement in company morale

Most operational problems a company experiences can more than likely be solved by thoroughly applying Lean techniques.

Be Proactive

The majority of companies that implement Lean Manufacturing have not completely integrated Lean concepts into their business. The good news is that it is never too late to initiate or complete process improvement with Lean procedures.
